Welcome To RE Wild Food

RE Wild Food is nutritious and progressive, incorporating edible seaweeds, wild plants and organic produce. We strive to be sustainable, traceable, organic and low impact. Harvesting is done fresh from our garden, and we support local artisans and suppliers.

We cater to events and offer various workshops, including guided seaweed foraging beach walks, snorkeling adventures, Wim Hof method breathwork workshops, organic gardening training, and transformative retreats in pristine environments.

Lindy Taverner has worked in nature conservation and wildlife documentaries for over a decade and has international experience in hospitality and the adventure industry. Her passion for the environment, both land and ocean, will educate and inspire.

Franz Muhl was trained in agroecology at the University of Santa Cruz and worked professionally in organic farming in California. and the Western Cape. He has over three decades of hands in the dirt experience and a passion for biodiversity. He strives to inspire others to connect to nature, the soil, their food and the source of their health. “Quality foods are the essential, raw building materials of the body and mind."

This half day experience will introduce you to some of our local edible seaweeds and indigenous wild plants. Explore the magical world of rock pools, meet like-minded people, learn how to sustainably harvest and prepare your macro-algae and watch recipe demos cooked on fire. A celebratory lunch meal will be enjoyed by all in our cosy clay home.

We hope to educate and inspire with our foraging workshops, providing you with the know-how to harvest and prepare your own wild greens.

Our workshop includes a 4-course plant-based meal where seaweed is used as the main theme, and you get to go home with an online info booklet with recipes and other cool facts about seaweed and wild plants.
